At some point you may get a phone call or a letter calling you to an interview or requesting that you make contact with a DVSA officer so that they can make arrangements to visit your operating centre. Sometimes the letter will set out the reasons why they want to interview you. It may even tell you what offences they may suspect you of having committed. However, more often than not it will contain very little information at all. The important thing is to be prepared.
The most important thing is to respond within the required time.
- Arrange for an audit of your systems to help identify any problems and act on them.
- VCTS can help you to put in place systems to ensure your business is legally compliant going forward.
VCTS can help you to get systems and procedures in place to make your operation ready for the visit. The most important thing is to respond within the required time (this is usually 28 days, but we have seen examples where you are given much less time).
